Supporting Patient-Centered Healthcare in Tough Times

Dedicated cancer care for regional New South Wales

Essomenic worked with DXC and Whanganui District Health Board to design the patient journey for a new telehealth service which provided critical healthcare to patients during COVID-19.  The success of the project was highlighted in a recent HINZ digital article available at https://www.hinz.org.nz/news/537607/Whanganui-deploys-telehealth-on-Teams-.htm.

Working with a broad range of stakeholders Essomenic designed an innovative system of care for a new multidisciplinary cancer centre located in Tamworth NSW. The key project goal was the consolidation of four disparate clinical services into one integrated patient journey.  The project involved facilitating workshops with over 45 attendees including clinicians, management, administration and patient representatives and resulted in the development of a number of ‘bluesky’ patient journey scenario models that provided important data for resource forecasting.

An Innovative Solution

Working with academic, managerial, administrative and student representative stakeholders Essomenic led the review and optimisation of the Examination process for the School of Business at Griffith University.  Resulting workflow models were used as the key tool to drive organisational change and acted as the logical specification for IT to improve ongoing technical support of the end-to-end process.
